A former and current principal visiting us for Black History Month!

In February, former Coronation Elementary School principal Ms. Beverly Townsend and current PACC Adult Education Centre principal Ms. Qaadira De Coteau visited our K5 students. Ms. De Coteau also shared that she attended Coronation as a student when she was younger!

They read Black-owned children’s books about pursuing dreams and never giving up. Ms. Townsend also shared a video from her friend, a Black female pediatric doctor, who filmed a day in her life at a Montreal hospital.

Students were very impressed by the video, which inspired them to dream big. They then shared their own future career goals with the class. Many now say they want to become doctors!
